The eighth annual Loving Day Flagship Celebration — in honor of the 44th anniversary of Loving v. Virginia, a U.S. Supreme Court case that allowed interracial couples to marry by ruling laws prohibiting them being illegal — will take place at Solar 1, at the intersection of East River and 23rd St., NY, NY from 3 to 7 p.m. The event features free barbecue and beer (for the first hour), music and entertainment for all. The event is free, but RSVP is requested through lovingdayparty@gmail.com. Celebrations for mixed heritage will take place across the nation the weekend of June 11. Info, including on other celebrations, visit www.lovingday.org.
