The Oakland Asian Cultural Center, 388 Ninth St., Oakland, Calif., will present “Yone Noguchi in California: A Japanese Poet Among Oakland’s Famous Writers.” The exhibit features the early writings of Noguchi as well as the works of soshi-style calligraphy of Yoko Muroga and her student Mami Nomura and ikebana by B. Stevens Strauss. There will also be a book signing by Nina Egert, curator of the exhibit and author of “Noguchi’s California: Poetic Visions of a 19th Century Dharma Bum” from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Hours: Tuesdays 1 to 5 p.m., (10 a.m. to 1 p.m. by appointment only) and Wednesdays through Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Info: (510) 637-0455, www.oacc.cc.
