The Japan-America Society of Oregon will present the 2012 “Sakura Sunday” from noon to 3 p.m. at the Japanese American Historical Plaza, NW Couch Street and Naito Parkway, Portland, Ore. Participants at the free event can experience centuries-old traditions: picnicking, cherry blossom viewing and celebrating the fleeting splendor of spring. Portland Taiko will perform.
