The Oregon Nikkei Endowment (O.N.E.) will host “An Osechi Ryori Primer” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Art Institute of Portland, 34 NW 8th Avenue. to celebrate the Japanese New Year with foods steeped in tradition and lore. The event will feature both demonstrations and hands-on cooking lessons on making makizushi, inarizushi and nishime from time-honored recipes that represent good luck, good health and prosperity.
