The Japanese American National Museum will host a program on the Manzanar Baseball Project from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 100 North Central Ave. in L.A.’s Little Tokyo. “The Manzanar Baseball Project is rebuilding and bringing to life the diamond at Manzanar National Historic Site,” where Japanese American inmates played America’s pastime while unjustly imprisoned. “Artist and Project Director Dan Kwong will be joined by Josh Morey, Bobby Umemoto, Chris Komai, and Professor Susan Kamei in conversation about this compelling project, the rich history of Japanese Americans and baseball, and how they came to overlap in this often overlooked chapter of our nation’s history.” Museum admission: $16 adults, $9 seniors/students/youth and free for JANM members.
