Sac: Bone marrow drive for Laurie Shimizu

The Sacramento Buddhist Church will hold a bone marrow drive for Laurie Shimizu at the Sacramento Buddhist Church, 2491 Riverside Blvd., Sacramento, Calif., from 10 a.m. to noon. Shimizu was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, and is searching for a bone marrow donor. Individuals who are between the ages of 18 and 60, and meet the health guidelines, can join the National Marrow Donor Program’s Be The Match Registry, and possibly save a life. The registration process includes filling out paperwork and giving a swab of cheek cells. Info: www.marrow.org or 1-800-627-7692.
