Yoshi’s Japanese Restaurant and Jazz Club’s fourth annual “Flip Side of Yoshi’s” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 1330 Fillmore St., just outside of S.F.’s Japantown. Features the culture and arts of Japan, with instruction in sumie (brush painting), Japanese calligraphy, chabana (flower arrangement), origami and Japanese tea ceremony. Live performances, including: noh, Yoshi’s Spiritual Contemporary Dance; Koto Ensemble; Rodoku Poetic Reading and Japanese songs performed by a choir. Instructors will be available from 10 a.m. to noon. Cost: $20; $10 for students; children under 7 are free. Info: (415) 655-5600.
