SF and Berkeley: ‘Hospitalite’ to be screened at SFIFF

23 Apr 05 May

“Hospitalite,” directed by Koji Fukada, will be screened at the 54th San Francisco International Film Festival. In this black comedy, the lives of a timid small-time printer and his young wife are turned inside out by the arrival of a stranger who moves in and takes over their world. Set in a village-like outpost in the heart of Tokyo, this is a wry commentary on Japanese xenophobia. The film will be screened at NEW PEOPLE, 1746 Post St. in SF’s Japantown, Saturday, April 23 at 9 p.m. Thursday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m., and at the Berkeley Pacific Archive, 2575 Bancroft Way, Berkeley, Saturday, April 30 at 8:15 p.m. Tickets: $11/members, $12 seniors/students/disabled; $13 general. Info: http://fest11.sffs.org.
