SF: JANL talk with Dr. Morishita and Dr. Hirabayashi

The Japanese American National Library (JANL) will sponsor a program featuring Dr. Leroy Morishita, interim president of CSU, East Bay and Dr. Jim Hirabayashi, former dean of the U.S.’s first school of ethnic studies, at SFSU. Both will discuss their thoughts about the issues, challenges, and rewards facing college and university administrators of color, especially with respect to Asian Americans. Dr. Rita Takahashi, SFSU professor of social work, will moderate. The program will be held at the Union Bank Hospitality Room, 1675 Post St. inside the East Building Mall in S.F.’s Japantown, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Info: Karl Matsushita (415) 567-5006.
