The Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California presents “Kristi Yamaguchi’s Kodomo no Hi” (Children’s Day Festival) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the S.F. Japantown Peace Plaza. Free and open to the public. In recognition of Japan’s national holiday to celebrate children, there will be entertainment, food and hands-on craft activities for children. The festivities include taiko and dance, performances by local youth groups, a bouncy house and live mochi pounding. Little ones will also be able to participate in hands-on arts and crafts and an art contest. Info: (415) 567-5505, www.jcccnc.org or programsevents@jcccnc.org.
