The National Japanese American Historical Society (NJAHS) will hold its annual awards luncheon, at the Hotel Kabuki, at 1737 Post St. in S.F.’s Japantown. Cocktails will begin at 11:30 a.m., and lunch at 1:30 p.m. The theme of this year’s event will be, “Peace in the Post-War Era.” NJAHS will honor Nisei war heroes Tom Sakamoto and Lawson Sakai, and classical Japanese dance instructor Madame Michiya Hanayagi and Japanese language news reporter June-Ko Nakagawa, for the roles they have played serving as cultural and personal bridges between Japan and America.
