VIZ Cinema in the New People Building, 1746 Post St., in S.F.’s Japantown, will show “Ruth Asawa: Roots of An Artist” as part of the 2011 Legacy Film Festival on Aging. The documentary film, directed by Bob Toy, depicts the life and work of world-renowned Nikkei artist Ruth Asawa, a beloved SF icon. There will be a post-screening Q&A with the director and Asawa family members following the 37-min. film.
