Community organizations will host “Halloween in Japantown” on Monday, Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church, at 566 North Fifth St., San Jose. Pre-show activities will begin at the Issei Memorial Building at 565 North Fifth St. from 3 to 5 p.m. State of Grace Tattoo Show will hold a Halloween party, featuring face painting, games and crafts. San Jose Taiko will continue the festivities with a performance at the Wesley United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, located at 566 North Fifth St. San Jose Taiko and Sgt. Gene Ito of the San Jose Police Department will give a safety presentation from 5 to 5:30 p.m. at the church. Trick-or-treating will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Merchants will give away free treats to children in costume. There will also be opportunities to take photographs with the “J-Town Halloween Drummers” for free. Trick-or-treating will also take place Sunday, Oct. 30 from 11 a.m. to noon.
