The San Jose chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League will hold its ninth annual community recognition dinner and fundraiser, “100 Years and Beyond: Honoring Community Service,” at the San Jose Airport Garden Hotel, 1740 North First St., in San Jose, Calif. The night will honor Roy and PJ Hirabayashi, founders of San Jose Taiko; Jim McClure, San Jose Obon chairperson; Wes Mukoyama, former executive director of Yu-Ai-Kai Japanese American Community Senior Service; the San Jose Zebras, a Nikkei basketball organization and the Wesley Jazz Ensemble. Jana Katsuyama of KTVU Channel 2 will emcee. Tickets are $85 or $850 for a table of 10.
