So Cal: Dr. Don Hata and Mary Hatsuko Higuchi to speak at Manzanar

Dr. Don Hata and Mary Hatsuko Higuchi will speak at the Manzanar National Historic Site about the theme of “Release, Recovery and Redress.” They will share their recollections of growing up behind barbed wire and surviving the postwar years. All programs are free and open to the public. The talks are each scheduled to start at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. each day. The Manzanar National Historic Site Interpretive Center is located at 5001 Highway 395, six miles south of Independence, Calif. Info: (760) 878-2194 or visit www.nps.gov/manz.
