The Enduring Power of Oral History: An Afternoon with Art Hansen & Friends

The Japanese American National Museum will host “The Enduring Power of Oral History: An Afternoon with Art Hansen & Friends” from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Tateuchi Democracy Forum, 100 North Central Ave. in L.A.’s Little Tokyo. Arthur A. Hansen, professor emeritus of History at California State University Fullerton, past director of the university’s Lawrence de Graaf Center for Oral and Public History, and past senior historian at JANM will share “an afternoon of reminiscences and oral histories from fellow scholars and friends.” Bruce Embrey, executive director of the Manzanar Committee, will serve as moderator. There will be a preview of his upcoming book being published by the Nichi Bei Foundation, “A Nikkei Harvest,” which is a collection of book reviews he has written for the Nichi Bei newspaper.
