Shirley Karasawa, a Japanese cooking instructor, will hold a bento-making workshop at the Wing Luke Museum, 719 South King St., Seattle at 3 p.m. Karasawa will demonstrate how to make the food that goes into a bento (boxed lunch) and how to properly fill it. Dishes include onigiri (Japanese rice balls with toasted seaweed and a shiso pickled plum filling), yakitori (Japanese grilled chicken and teriyaki sauce), tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled and layered omelette), and ingen no goma-ae (green bean salad with a sweet sesame dressing).
