“Three traditional types of Japanese gardens comprise the
1.2-acre site: a hill-and-pond style garden, which is intended to
be viewed from the veranda; a tsubo-niwa, or courtyard garden
in the style of an urban 17th-century Kyoto garden; and a roji, or
tea garden, which offers a rustic path to the tea house.” March 20
through Oct. 31: Wednesdays through Sundays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.;
Nov. 6 through Dec. 12: Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: $12: Adults, $8: Senior citizens, Children 5-17, Students
with College ID; $2: ACCESS Cardholders with photo ID, plus up
to four family members at $2 each. Free: Members, children under
the age of 5, active duty military ID holder plus up to five family
members, Philadelphia High School students with ID.
