The Soko Hardware store has been owned and operated by the Ashizawa family since 1925. The original store, located at 1683 Post St., was established by Masayasu and Naka Ashizawa. Now under the guidance of the third generation of the Ashizawa family, the shop specializes in beautifully crafted Japanese tools for gardening and woodworking, as well as unique goods such as seeds for Japanese plants and books about topics such as making shoji screens.
