At this writing, the NPS’ Tule Lake Unit is composed of three separate parcels of land. It includes the 37-acre National Historic Landmark site in Newell, California, where the iconic jail and the military stockade are located; the former Civilian Conservation Corps site known as Camp Tulelake (66 acres); and the 1,276-acre Castle Rock/Peninsula area. The NPS Tule Lake Unit is temporarily located in the lobby of the TulelakeButte Valley Fairgrounds Museum.
