LETTERS: Concerns about conditions in S.F.’s J-Town

|

Hello, after taking several tours of Japantown and the Peace Plaza, I am very concerned with the condition of the town. The Pagoda itself is rusting and has severe gaps in the foundation.

The walkways and tree holders are cracking and falling apart. There is a lot of trash and filth in the walkways.

Inside the food court the ceilings have mildew and stains. Also, the restroom on the first floor has been operating without a sink for people to wash their hands in. I saw people washing their hands in the water fountain outside of the restroom. There was a terrible smell of rotten sewage.

What can be done to fix these issues?
