The San Fernando Valley chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League is hosting a special screening of the acclaimed film, “The Harimaya Bridge” at 2 p.m. at the San Fernando Valley Japanese American Community Center, 12953 Branford St. in Pacoima, Calif. The film was inspired by writer/director Aaron Woolfolk’s experiences living and working in rural Japan. The movie tells the story of an American man who, after the sudden death of his estranged son in the Japanese countryside, must go there to claim some important family items. While there, he discovers some secrets his son left behind. Woolfolk will be available answer questions after the movie. The film stars Ben Guillory, Saki Takaoka, Misa Shimizu and Danny Glover.
